ABOUT THE EVENT:

Kilmovee 10K was established in 2010 and has been run & has grown each year since known as the ‘friendliest & flattest race in the West’ our reputation for our pre & post-race hospitality, and the scenery is what has helped us grow over and is what brings competitors back and new faces each year.

The race is run in aid of Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation and Kilmovee Shamrocks GAA,

Since its launch, we have raised over €80,000 for the Hospice Foundation, Thank You!

Each year we also run a free secondary competition called the Micheal McDonnell Memorial Sheild for teachers and students to represent their school, college, or university.

Last year due to Covid 19 we as many races had to cancel, but instead of wandering the course in despair, missing our running, jogging, and walking friends we launched our Face Mask Appeal with an aim to purchase 10,000 (10k) face masks for frontline workers, including staff at Mayo Roscommon Hospice, Local Nursing Homes, Mayo Civil Defense and Local Gardai – we finally delivered over 13,000 with your help.

This year we enter the world of The Matrix – with our first Kilmovee Virtual 5 & 10k and yes we still will be running our Micheal McDonnell Memorial Shield (for more information visit – www.kilmovee10k.com/michael-mcdonnell-shield-2 )

Albeit, without the tea & sangerwiches!

“Unfortunately, no one can be told what The Matrix is. You’ll have to see it for yourself.”

We hope this opportunity will allow our friends from all over the world to participate in our event – and help us grow and continue the fantastic work our volunteers do each year (but give them a day off, well most of them).

Why not register and join us in 2021 – then come (hopefully) to Kilmovee, Mayo in 2022 and sample our hospitality first hand.
