The Braveheart 5km Run 2019 will take place on Friday 14th June at the Porchfields, Trim.

 

Since its inception in 2010 the race which is organised by Trim Athletic Club has grown into one of the most popular events in the local running calendar. This year also The Braveheark 5k is the 4th race of The Kia Race Series

 

The location and route of the race along the banks of the historic river Boyne is a run back through history. It takes the runners among one of the finest collections of medieval monuments in Ireland. Each year runners and their spectators remark on this memorable visual treat.  For a flavour of what to expect click here

 

The friendly atmosphere and excellent post race hospitality combined with good organisation the host club enhances the experience for participants.

 

What’s included:

  • Technical tshirt for first 640 registered
  • AII Permit granted
  • Chip Timed
  • Post Race Refreshments

 

Since our first race in 2010 the race has enjoyed generous sponsorship of numerous local businesses. We will be publishing this years sponsor list in the coming weeks. This level of participant support and commercial/community sponsorship is greatly appreciated by the club as it enables the club to put on a top class event for runners which brings ever increasing numbers each year. It also helps the club provide for its younger members and contribute to the wider community through our charity partnerships.

RACE DAY INFORMATION

Number & T-Shirt collection:

We would encourage local participants to avail of Number & t-shirt collection at the Trim Aura Leisure Centre between 7.00 – 9.00 pm Thursday evening, Numbers & t-shirt can also be collected at the Race HQ marque in the Porchfields on the day of the run between 6.00 – 7.30 pm.

 

Unfortunately, due to the numbers who’ve registered marshals are only able to give you the size of t-shirt you selected on-line.

 

Registrations:

A limited number of entries will be available on the evening.

 

Race Time:

The race starts at 8pm sharp.

 

Chipped Timed & Starting Zones:

All participants will be chip timed. This means that your time will only begin once you cross over the timing mat at the start and end when you cross the timing mat at the finish.

 

To ensure an orderly start we request that you line up in the zone that best represents your expected finishing time. These zones are as follows:

  • Zone 1: Sub 20 Minutes.
  • Zone 2: 20 to 24 Minutes.
  • Zone 3: 24 to 28 Minutes.
  • Zone 4: 28+ Minutes.

 

Toilets:

Toilets will be situated up beside the Race HQ Marque near the Yellow Steeple and finish line.

Post-Race Refreshments

Please continue around the Yellow Steeple at the finish to avoid congestion and to avail of post-race refreshments will be available at the Race HQ marque.

 

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to:

1st, 2nd, 3rd Male & Female. 1st Male & Female Meath affiliated athlete.

Category prizes for Male & Female Senior, U20, O40, O45, O50, O55, O60.

 

There will also be male and female team prizes (AAI affiliated)
