Another sold out Roscommon 10 Mile road race, testament to the hard work and organisiation of the host club, Roscommon Harriers AC, and it was fitting that their race was again won by some of the countries finest athletes, with wins for Ballina AC’s Hugh Armstrong, and Stabane AC’s Anne Marie McGlynn, both Irish internationals and both in good form this summer!
Both Armstrong and McGlynn lead from the gun, and had relatively comfortable wins, Armstrong finishing over 3 minutes clear of the DSD pair of Killian Mooney and Eanna O Bradaigh, his winning time of 49:28 showing how fast this race can be with the right conditions.
McGlynns winning margin was similar, winning in 56.39 with Breege Connolly in 2nd at 60:01. Anna Dooner from the host club, Roscommon AC, was a pouplar 3rd place finisher.
The Mixed Team prize was won by Galway City Harriers who picked up the €1,000 tema prize courtesy of Peugeot Ireland.
