ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED: NUMBER PICK UP AND LIMITED REGISTRATION FROM 8:30am – 10:30am in the morning.

The Streets of Portlaoise 5k Road Race takes place on Saturday 17th March 2018 at 11.00am.  This years event is also the opening race of the KIA race series.

A fast flat course (AAI Measured & Permitted) with a great atmosphere attracting elite runners, walkers and joggers.

This year sees the introduction of a new 5k race route to cater for the increase in the numbers of runners taking part each year and we are also pleased to announce that this year the course will be closed to all traffic for the duration of the race. The race will now start close to the old Centrepoint Shopping Centre on the Mountrath road, run down main street before heading out the ridge road, back up Mountmellick road, right up harpers lane and down the Mountrath road. The finish line will remain at the bottom of Main street Portlaoise.

Registration is €15 + fees and participants can register online or on the day from 8.30am in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise. Places are limited so we advise online registration.

Nearly €3000 in cash prizes. Top prizes for first 5 senior male and female and the following race categories O/40, O/45, O/50 & first Junior male/female (U/20). Prizes for 1st and 2nd club teams (3 to score). Course record cash prizes for both male and female Senior runners – €500 each. (As this years race incorporates a new route all course records are up for grabs!). Medal for all participants.

Changing facilities, refreshments and prize giving in the hotel after race.

**Under 16’s require Parent/Guardians consent to participate and must register on the day – price €10.**

NOTE RE NUMBER POSTAGE: Number postage option available on all race entries (€2.50 surcharge). Please do NOT select this option if registering in the immediate 7 days before the event. Your number will not be posted, and you will not be refunded. (Example – race takes place on Sunday 8th, last day for registering for guaranteed postage is Sunday 1st, 7 days previously)
