IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 

Q: When does the race take place?

Sunday 3rd March 2024 @ 11.00AM

Q: Where does it take place?

Start and End Point – Brothers of Charity Centre – H91 YXN3

This circuit takes participants down the front avenue from the Brothers of Charity Centre and out onto a brief stretch of main road before routing back into Kilcornan Woods and the winding trails that will return participants to the grounds of the Brothers of Charity complex, then running down the back avenue past the Walled Garden, through the archway, around the front of Kilcornan House to the finish line at the Brothers of Charity Centre.

 

Q: Where and when can I collect my race number?

Race numbers can be collected at the following times:

  • Scoil Mhuire Clarinbridge on Saturday 2nd March from 6.00 – 8.00PM
  • Brothers of Charity Centre on Sunday 3rd March from 10.00AM.

Once you have your race number, you can go straight to the start line!

Q: How do I get here?

We ask that you enter Clarinbridge via the main roads as the Children’s Fun Run will be in progress from 10.00am using the back avenue of the Brothers of Charity facility which will lead to delays from this direction.

Follow the road and parking marshals’ instructions.

 

Q: Where can I park?
Parking is extremely limited at the Brothers of Charity Centre but parking is available at the Clarinbridge GAA Club (H91 YCP3) and Flemings Field (adjacent to the GAA Club), both are outlined in red below– there is a path through the woods that will bring you to the start line.

Please follow the road and parking marshals’ instructions. Space is limited so please carpool if possible and please respect our neighbours.

Q: Is the course accurately measured?
Yes – measured to AI standards

 

Q: Will I get an official finishing time?
Yes full results will be posted by Pop Up Races - link will be  emailed to all participants.

 

Q: How much does it cost to enter?
Online Registration - €20

Registration on Sunday 3rd March from 9.30AM at Brother of Charity Centre - €20

 

Q: Are there age restrictions?

You must be 16years old or older to participate

Q: What time does the race start?
11.00AM sharp

Q: Where does the race start?
At the entrance to the Brothers of Charity Centre (aka Kilcornan Hall)


Q: Should I wear my race number to the front or back?

Always wear your race number on the front

Q: Will the roads be closed?

No, so please respect the road marshals and respect the rules of the road at all times

Q: Is the course marked in miles or kilometres?
It will be marked in kilometres

Q: Will there be water stations on the course?

No, there will be water at the finish line.

Q: What First Aid facilities do you have?
The Order of Malta will be on hand to offer assistance to anyone in distress. Additionally, there will be two GPs on duty, one of which will be mobile (on a bike).
Q: Will there be toilets?
Yes, toilets will be available in the Brother of Charity Centre (aka Kilcornan Hall)

 

Race Waiver 

By Signing up to Scoil Mhuire Clarinbridge 5k 2024 
I understand that participating in this event is potentially hazardous, and that I should not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained.

In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I assume full and complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur while I am travelling to or from the event, during the event, or while I am on the premises of the event.

I’m also aware of and assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, effect of weather, traffic, and conditions of the road/water. I, for myself and my heirs and executors, hereby waive, release and forever discharge the event organizers, sponsors, promoters and each of their agents, representatives, successors and assigns, and all other persons associated with the event, for all my liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that I may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in this event.

I understand that this waiver includes any claims, whether caused by negligence, the action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise.

I hereby grant full permission to any and all of the above parties to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, website images, recordings or any other record of this event.

I confirm that I DO NOT have any injury, disease or medical conditions that would prevent me from taking part in the event or endanger myself or any other participant.

I understand the nature of the event and I fully accept that I take part totally at my own risk.
