Did you recently watch the Olympics and think you would love the opportunity to race on a running track with people of similar ability to you? Well here is your chance!

This year the Leixlip 5k event will take place on the Le Chéile AC track in Leixlip. The track has been the scene of some superb performances in the past including the first ever sub four minute mile in Co. Kildare (Sam McEntee, 3:58.23 in 2014) and the Woman’s O55 800m World Record (Anne Gilshinan, 2:19.63 in 2019).

Details of Leixlip 5k 2021:

  • Multiple 5000m races held across morning of 25th September, starting 8:30am
  • Runners of all ability levels very welcome
  • Walkers very welcome
  • Wheelchair athletes very welcome
  • Sign up and outline your predicted finish time
  • You will be assigned a race start time with people of similar ability
  • Pacers for key milestone times
  • Shorter races for kids (u10 & u14)
  • All participants receive Leixlip 5k hat
  • Participants can make own decision on whatever shoes they wish to use

All participants must check in prior to the race (including those with Popup VIP numbers), so please arrive at least 20 minutes before your race Start Time to do this.

 

For those arriving by car, parking is available in the carpark immediately beside the Le Chéile AC track, please do not park in the area of the car park closer to the Leixlip Amenities Centre building.

 

Please only use the toilets in the Le Chéile AC track grounds – it is not permitted to use the toilets within the Leixlip Amenities Centre building.
