Welcome to the Buttevant RC 4 Mile Road Race 2025.
This year the race is on Sunday morning, 25th May at 10.30 am.The route is a 4 mile looped course (it does have climbs between miles 2 & 3), starting on R580, at the end of town on the Kanturk road, turning left onto New Street, left onto R522, turning left at Sarah at the Crossroads, bringing you back to the R580 past the start point, left again, finish near the Buttevant GAA Pitch.

Off road warm up area available around the pitch
Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male/Female plus category prize winners. Course record on offer for 1st male (current male course record holder is Sean Doyle – 19.49) and 1st female (current record holder is Carol Finn – 23.22).
Team event for first 4 club participants to finish in the highest position will win a cash prize and the perpetual trophy for the year.
Post race hospitality and prize giving will be in the GAA Hall afterwards.
The Buttevant 4 mile is the final race is of the Rebel Diamond League, which is back for its 2nd year. Local clubs Mount Hillary AC, Dromahane Road Runners, Bweeng Trail Blazers AC and Buttevant RC have come together to create this League whereby the idea behind it is that local clubs support local clubs. There will be a commemorative mug for those who complete all 4 of the Rebel Diamond League races.
It promises to be a great morning so do register now to be part of it.

Race Numbers:
If you have chosen the postal option, you will have received your number in the post.
Alternatively, if you have chosen to collect your number on race day or if you have not received your number, please come to the Collections Desk at Race HQ before the race.
Online Registration is available until 6am race morning, Sunday 25th May. You may collect your number on the morning of the race.
We will accept cash or card payment on Sunday morning for on the day registration. The fee is €15.
Registration will close at 10am
Race start time is 10.30am. You will need to allow time to get from Race HQ to the start line as there is approx. 1.2kms between the two.
Race Number:
The race number should be worn to the front chest area only.
Numbers are Non-Transferable, and would appreciate your cooperation in this regard.
Timing Chip:
The race is chip timed. The timing chip is already attached to your race number. Please DO NOT FOLD YOUR NUMBER, THIS WILL HARM THE TIMING CHIP.
Any issues, please contact the Race Number Collection’s desk in Race HQ tent on the day.
Toilet Facilities:
Available in the GAA Complex grounds.
Please note there are no toilet facilities at the Start line.
Parking:
Parking will be available at the side of the Buttevant GAA grounds and next door, courtesy of Leisure Domes. There will be no parking allowed on the race route. Please ensure to park responsibly and not to block private entrances. Kindly obey the stewards and Gardaí instructions in this matter at all times. We request that you carpool where possible.
Note: There is no parking at Race HQ. Follow signage for car park.

Start Line:
Start line is approx. 1.2km Race HQ.
Turn left for the start line on leaving the GAA grounds. Directions will be posted plus stewards will be on the route to point you in the right direction.
Start time is 10.30am sharp unless there is an unforeseen delay with trains.
Note: There will be no road closures so keep to the left hand side of the road. Kindly follow stewards instructions at all times.

Water Stops:
There will be 1 water stop on the race route at approx. the 2 mile mark.
Race Results:
Results will be posted on our social media pages and Popup Races after the race.
Post-Race Refreshments:
Please make your way to the GAA Complex for our post race refreshments.
Goodie Bag Collection:
Your lucky dip Goodie bag awaits you in the GAA complex after the race. Limited availability.
Prize Giving:
Prize giving will be in the GAA hall after the race. First, second and third Male/Female prizes plus category and Juvenile prizes will be presented and if not collected will be posted
Team prize will also be presented and is kindly sponsored by our main sponsor, Greenhall Motors.
Any spot prizes will be presented on the day of the race.
Stewards & Safety:
Your safety is our number one priority. Remember to obey the stewards at all times. It is up to each individual runner to take responsibility for their own behavior.
Headphones:
The use of MP3 players, iPod, headphones is not permissible. There are no road closures during this race so for your own safety all runners need to adhere to this regulation.
