The Braveheart 5k run will take place on Friday 14th June 2019 at Porchfields, Trim. Since its inception in 2010 the race which is organised by Trim Athletic Club has grown into one of the most popular events in the local running calendar. This year ,The Braveheark 5k is the 4th race of The Kia Race Series runs.

Our 5k run has always been a popular summer race and this year will be no different!  The part-grass/part-path route brings you around the Porchfields in Trim, along the River Boyne with stunning views of Trim Castle and finishes at the iconic Yellow Steeple.   Click here for a flavour of what to expect.

Each year the race enables Trim AC to raise funds for itself and for its chosen charities. Race proceeds have helped the Meath Louth branch of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, Trim Special Olympics Club, Leinster River Rescue, Irish Guide Dogs, Hope Foundation, Tabor House and the Conor Foley Neuroblastoma Foundation.

The location and route of the race along the banks of the historic river Boyne is a run back through history. It takes the runners among one of the finest collections of medieval monuments in Ireland. Each year runners and their spectators remark on this memorable visual treat. The friendly atmosphere and excellent post race hospitality combined with good organisation the host club enhances the experience for participants.  The race has an Athletics Ireland permit and will be chip timed by Popup Races who provided the timing service for our Trim AC Nally’s 10 mile race in February.

Since our first race in 2010 the race has enjoyed generous sponsorship of numerous local businesses. We will be publishing this years sponsor list in the coming weeks. This level of participant support and commercial/community sponsorship is greatly appreciated by the club as it enables the club to put on a top class event for runners which brings ever increasing numbers each year. It also helps the club provide for its younger members and contribute to the wider community through our charity partnerships.
