A one looped course starting and finishing in the Tullamore Town Centre

Registration: Bank of Ireland R35 Y791

Race start and finish:  William Street, Tullamore R35 F6C0

Parking and Toilets: Bridge Centre Car Park, and O’Connor Square Tullamore R35 XE63

The Ashling Murphy Perpetual Trophy will be presented to the 1st lady finisher.

Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd finishers and 1st O40, O45, O50, O60, O70 Male and Female.

 

Entry fee 15 euro with a portion of proceeds going to the Aishling Murphy Memorial Fund.

FAQ's Ashling Murphy 4 Mile Road Race

The inaugural Ashling Murphy 4 Mile Road race is Race 1 of the Offaly Athletics Endurance Race Series and incorporates the Offaly Novice, Senior and Masters Road race Championships.
This race is run on a one looped course starting and finishing in the Tullamore Town Centre.

When is the race? The race in on Sunday 22nd of May 2022

What time does the race start? The race starts at 11am (Walkers 10.40am sharp)

Where does the race start? The race starts and finishes on Bridge Street, Tullamore (near O'Connor Square R35 A9P4)

Race route: From outside the Brewery Tap straight through the town all the way out Arden Road to Ben Scally Centra. Taking a left there all the way through the next roundabout and on to the Sragh Road. Left again back around towards the next roundabout and right onto Kilcruttin. At the Railway Station traffic lights taking a left back down the town to the finish line.

Where is registration/number collection? Online registration until 1pm on the 21st of May. Registration is at Bank of Ireland, Bridge Street R35 Y791 from 9.15am. (Those who opted to have their number posted do not need to register on the morning of the race and may go straight to the start line)

Where can I park? Parking available at Bridge Centre Car Park, and Spollen's Car Park and Tanyard Car Park

Toilets: Toilets available in O'Connor Square .

 

Can walkers register for this race? Yes, walkers are very welcome and will start at 10.40am (20 minutes ahead of the runners). Due to safety measures, walkers are advised to use the footpaths where possible.

How age is the race open to? All runners must be 16 years of age or older.

Will the road be closed? There will be road closures along the greater part of the route from 11am to 1pm which provides huge safety and comfort for our athletes. The road closures will be lifted once the main pack of runners pass. Please please follow the instructions of the Gardai and race marshals and be mindful that safety is paramount for all involved.

What time is the prize presentation? The prizegiving will be in O'Connor Square at 12.30pm .
The Ashling Murphy Perpetual Trophy will be presented to the 1st lady finisher by Ashling Murphy's parents Ray and Kathleen.
