This is a magical 5km / 3km run starting at Skryne GFC and taking in the beautiful Skryne Castle on the Hill of Skryne, which looks out on the famous Hill of Tara.

Tara AC would like to thank you for registering for our 5k road race and 3k children’s race for 2025, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our race evening. We would like to thank PopUpRaces for the support, and also our lead sponsors Gibbons Recruitment.
A few notes below to be aware of ahead of Friday evening
1 - Children’s (U16) Race starts at 6.30pm sharp and over 16+ 5k race at 7.30pm on Friday 29th August.
2 - Online Registration will remain open until 60 mins before race start time, you can register on the night for €20 for 5k / €5 Children’s race number only or €10 for Family of 4 all in the 3k. Cash and Card Machine accepted on the night.
3 - Parking is available in the field opposite Skryne GFC, we will have marshals on hand to direct you. Please car pool where possible and we ask local runners not to drive where possible.
4 – Early number collection available Thursday evening 6.30pm-8pm, or on race day from 5.30pm. All number collection is from Skryne GFC.
5 - You can transfer your number on the night, but only through the correct channels (i.e. speaking to a member of the registration team). Those found running under a different name having not gone through the official channel will be disqualified from the race
6 - The winning team will be the first club team home of 3 men / 3 women. If any of the first 3 home for a club are running under someone else's bib/name, that club will be eliminated from the club team competition. Responsibility to ensure you are correctly registered rests with you.
No amendments to entries will be allowed after 7pm on race night. Prize money in the 5k for 1st, 2nd, 3rd for both Male and Female categories. and for each decade winner. We also have a U20 Male and Female winner.
7 - The race starts approx 1km after turning right onto the road at the gates to Skryne GFC club, full race route is available on our social media pages - The first 250 registered are eligible for t-shirts, and the size will be as per your selection at purchase. Please don't ask for a t-shirt if you didn't get in the first 250, we don't have spares and we have none for sale
8 - Presentation will take place at 8.15pm in Skryne GFC & after race goodies will also be available.
9- Please run with a smile on your face and be thankful to our marshals on the course.
